Your direct-ordering launch checklist
Prepare your menu, agree who handles each order, and rehearse the customer journey before sharing your ordering link.

2. Agree who handles each handover
Name the person who watches incoming orders and the person who covers when they step away. Agree when staff should accept an order, when it is ready for handover, and who speaks to the customer if something changes.
For delivery, confirm which areas you serve and who arranges collection. For pickup, give a location and a realistic collection instruction. Review the process with the people working that shift.
- Who checks an incoming order?
- Who confirms an unavailable item or a delay?
- Who verifies payment and hands over the order?
- Who handles a customer asking for help afterwards?
3. Rehearse from the customer’s phone
Use an agreed test with your team and the setup your onboarding contact has confirmed. Open the ordering entry point on a phone, select items and check quantities, choices and the total. Follow the order through to the staff view and the final handover.
Check an unavailable item and an incorrect address as well as the straightforward path. If your test involves a real payment, agree the amount and how it will be handled before starting. Record what happened so everyone can review the same result.
